The past day, Saturday, June 24, was relatively calm in Ukraine. There were no massive missile strikes around the country on that day, but russians used various types of weapons during the shelling. In particular, enemy used the S-300 SAM system to launch missiles in ground-to ground variant to shell Zaporozhye. To counter such enemy strikes, Ukraine needs ATACMS missiles to destroy launchers on the ground

Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the Edyny Novyny national telethon.

According to the official, in order to successfully respond to this type of missile (missiles for the S-300 SAM system, used on the ground - ed.), which are fast and carry a serious threat, Ukraine needs ATACMS missiles.

"We have long-range missiles in the form of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which have given us positive results. Disrupting the enemy's logistics routes is key to our success, in addition to having air superiority. Ukrainian pilots swiftly and effectively destroyed russian columns at the beginning of the large-scale invasion through aerial strikes. Today, aviation and long-range weaponry are crucial for Ukraine. The missiles we have in our arsenal with the longest range are the Tochka-U' missiles. Their range is 120 kilometers, and we are still using them. russia has the Iskander-M missiles as well as the aeroballistic Kinzhal," Ignat stated.
