Ukrainian forces have carried out a complex, multi-layered special operation in the Zaporizhzhia direction, targeting critical elements of russia's electronic warfare and air defense network. The mission brought together units from the National Guard, Air Force, and artillery reconnaissance, highlighting an increasingly coordinated approach to battlefield shaping.
The operation was detailed on April 10 by Oleksandr Pivnenko, commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. According to him, each phase of the operation was designed to systematically dismantle key components of russian combat capability in the area.

At the initial stage, operators from the Lasar's Group used drones to destroy the Palantin electronic warfare system. Palantin system is designed to disrupt communications and suppress signals, making it a high-priority target for Ukrainian forces seeking to maintain battlefield connectivity.
Following the suppression of electronic warfare capabilities, the operation shifted toward russian air defenses. The Lasar's Group, supported by aerial reconnaissance from the 15th Brigade, conducted a targeted hunt for S-300V systems deployed in the area.
Through coordinated intelligence and analytical efforts, Ukrainian forces identified the positions of key air defense components. Precision strikes were then carried out against a launcher of the S-300V system, as well as its multi-channel missile guidance radar, both critical elements required for effective operation.
The degradation of these systems had immediate operational implications. Russian air defenses had been limiting the effectiveness of Ukrainian aviation in the sector, restricting both strike and reconnaissance missions. By neutralizing these assets, Ukrainian forces effectively opened a corridor for follow-on actions.
With the air defense threat reduced, the Ukrainian Air Force moved to exploit the opportunity. According to Oleksandr Pivnenko, air assets subsequently struck and destroyed a russian UAV command post, further disrupting enemy reconnaissance and strike coordination capabilities.
