The United Kingdom is ramping up its military support for Ukraine, with plans to deliver 150 artillery barrels and new mobile air defense system. The announcement was made by the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that we are providing 150 artillery barrels for Ukraine, made by Sheffield Forgemasters. That’s the first time in over 20 years that these barrels will [be] produced in the United Kingdom and they will arriving in Ukraine in just a few weeks time. I can also announce that we will be delivering a new mobile air defense system named Gravehawk, British-designed, co-funded with Denmark,” Keir Starmer stated.

This aid package is part of the UK’s broader commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense against russian aggression. The UK has already allocated £3 billion (approximately $3.6 billion) in military assistance and will contribute an additional £2.2 billion (approximately $2.6 billion). The latter amount will be covered using interest generated from frozen russian assets.
