Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, discussed the matter during a broadcast on the United News telethon.
“This information still needs verification,” Pletenchuk noted. “However, it appears that many of these barriers, which the russians spent almost the entire warm season constructing, are no longer operational. The storm season is far from over, and harsh sea conditions are expected to continue for another 2-3 months. We anticipate additional results of nature’s intervention—or as we call it, ‘General Storm.’”

Pletenchuk explained that the Kerch Strait is naturally a highly dynamic and turbulent area. Despite russian efforts to build elaborate defenses, including sunken structures and other barriers, the power of nature seems to have overwhelmed their designs.
Additionally, the number of barges intended to safeguard the Crimean Bridge has significantly decreased. The bridge, an illegal structure and a critical logistical artery for the russian military, supports its operations in southern Ukraine and has been a frequent target of Ukrainian forces.
