Sanctions and Ukrainian strikes have left russian forces short of air defense assets on part of the front line

According to the Atesh partisan movement, sources in russian air defense units in the Zaporizhzhia sector report their equipment is in catastrophic condition. A combination of sanctions, Ukrainian missile strikes on repair facilities, and manufacturing flaws has caused widespread malfunctions in russian air defense systems, including the Tor system.

Facing a severe shortage of operational air defense systems, russian forces have resorted to using tractors to tow launchers into position. This practice makes the equipment extremely vulnerable and turns expensive systems into easy targets.

The shortage of spare parts poses a particular problem. Defense industry enterprises operating under increased pressure are producing low-quality components that fail after a short period of use.

Every air-defense system identified by partisans, along with its coordinates and operating mode, presents an opportunity for the Defense Forces of Ukraine to carry out a precision strike. Atesh claims that the russian occupation forces' air defense is critically degraded.

In a message to russian air defense personnel, Atesh urges them not to repair equipment that is bound to be destroyed.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian partisans had scouted the 120th GRAU arsenal in russia's Bryansk. We also wrote that russians use nets to shield oil depots in Kazan from Ukrainian drones.
