The 413th Regiment says each strike creates "windows" in russian air defenses, enabling deeper attack missions

Ukraine's Raid 413th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment has responded directly to critics who dismiss the value of destroying isolated russian air defense units. The message, published on the Regiment's official page, challenges the notion that eliminating a single system, such as Osa, has little strategic effect because russia "has hundreds of them".

Operators from the Regiment rejected this logic, stressing that every successful strike on russian air defense assets plays a crucial role in shaping the battlefield.

"Each successful hit is not just minus one vehicle," the Regiment stated, addressing those who argue these losses are insignificant for russia's vast arsenal.

According to the Regiment, the destruction of enemy air defense systems should not be viewed as a one-off event. Instead, it is part of a systematic effort to carve out "windows" in the opponent's defensive network, creating vulnerabilities that can later be exploited by Ukrainian strike assets.

The Regiment explained that once a particular area is left without coverage, "something much more powerful will arrive", placing russian command posts, ammunition depots, or logistics nodes under direct threat. Eliminating short-range air defense systems such as the Osa thus clears the path for deeper and more destructive Ukrainian operations.

To reinforce their point, the Regiment released new footage showing another precise drone strike on russian Osa system. The system was hit cleanly and reduced to scrap, demonstrating both the accuracy of Ukrainian FPV operators and the ongoing attrition of russian ground-based air defense assets.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian Shamanbat unit have conducted joint airborne training with the aviation component of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, practicing helicopter insertion in conditions designed to mirror real combat. According to the Defense Intelligence, the exercise focused on sharpening rapid deployment skills essential for reconnaissance and strike missions behind enemy lines.
