Modern M109 self-propelled howitzers operate in Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine use a number of really modern types of weapons and military equipment against the russian occupation forces. The weapons includ M109 self-propelled howitzers, which Ukraine receives, in particular, from Norway and the USA.

Probably, several dozens of such self-propelled howitzers are already successfully used by Ukraine’s military in battles with the invaders. In particular, the press service of the 28th separate mechanized brigade publishes an example of the successful operation of 155-mm self-propelled howitzers.

"During the artillery fire by the self-propelled artillery battery of the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign with the correction of the fire of the 131st reconnaissance battalion on the enemy from M109 howitzers, the enemy's MSTA-B gun was destroyed," the press service of the brigade said.

As Defense Express reported, the the United Kingdom redeemed Belgian M109 self-propelled howitzers from a private arms company for Ukraine as well as Norwegian government has donated 22 M109 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine to help the country repel Russian attacks.
