In particular, Ukrainian artillerymen together with the intelligence department of the headquarters of the Kharkiv operational command and the air reconnaissance group of the third operational brigade of the National Guard destroyed two Nona-K artillery systems, a vehicle with ammunition, and an ammunition depot of the Russian invaders.

The Soviet/russian 120mm Nona-K towed artillery system combine the features of a howitzer and mortar in one system. In many respects they are unique weapons as there is no similar equivalent weapon system in the West.

The 120 mm 2B16 Nona-K towed system was developed in the 1970s at the Perm artillery facility and the Central Scientific Research Institute for Precision Machinery Construction.

As Defense Express reported, Ukrainian military seized more than three times more such an artillery systems than the Armed Forces of Ukraine has on its balance. In total, since the beginning of the war, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have captured 39 units of towed artillery as trophies.
