This was announced by Brigadier General Christian Frohding, the head of the Situation Center on Ukraine at the Germany's Ministry of Defense, in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.
According to the publication, Germany has already transferred 34 Gepard systems to Ukraine as well as another 15 will be delivered in the coming weeks.

"In addition, we plan to deliver up to 30 more Gepard systems by the end of the year in cooperation with the United States," Frohding said.
In the interview with Welt am Sonntag, Christian Frohding stated that he considers air defense to be a key weak point in the current counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army.
"We are doing everything we can. But despite all this, does Ukraine have sufficient missile defense? Definitely not!" Frohding said.
He also reminded that the German Embassy in Ukraine reported in November of last year that the Gepard helped Ukraine defend against Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones that were targeted at Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.
Christian Frohding noted that by the end of 2023, Germany will transfer two more IRIS-T SLM air defense missile systems to Ukraine, which have "almost 100% accuracy," as well as four more systems will be transferred next year.
