To confirm the presence of enemy equipment, the brigade deployed FPV drones into the area. These high-speed, maneuverable drones allowed operators to survey the terrain without exposing personnel to direct danger.
The aerial reconnaissance proved successful. Drone operators located the BMD-4 vehicle, confirmed its position, and relayed targeting information for a precision strike.
The BMD-4 is a russian airborne infantry fighting vehicle, designed for rapid deployment and equipped with a 100 mm gun capable of firing both shells and guided missiles, along with a 30 mm autocannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun. Its combination of mobility, firepower, and light armor makes it a key asset in mechanized infantry operations.
Following the initial hit, operators conducted a second drone sortie to assess the damage and gather further intelligence. This follow-up allowed them to target a vulnerable section of the vehicle for a decisive strike.
The operation resulted in the complete destruction of russian BMD-4 vehicle. Ukrainian forces emphasized the effectiveness of their FPV drone teams, which played a key role in both detection and targeting.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian special forces from the Lasar's Group conducted a series of night strikes against russian air defense assets on the Kherson axis, successfully destroying two surface-to-air missile systems in coordinated operations.
