The russian Ministry of Aggression (as the defense department of the aggressor country is called in Ukraine) notes that during the night their air defense allegedly shot down 64 Ukrainian drones. About 25 of these drones were shot down over the territory of the Ryazan region. russian official sources traditionally do not report how many Ukraine’s strike drones successfully hit legitimate military targets on the territory of the country that launched and has been waging a war against Ukraine for 11 years.
According to media reports, the Ryazan refinery is part of russia’s state oil and gas company Rosneft as well as is one of the key enterprises of the russian fuel infrastructure. This facility is the fourth largest oil refinery in russia. During 2024, the enterprise processed 13.1 million tons of oil and produced 2.3 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel and 4.2 million tons of fuel oil, that is used by the russian federation to continue the war against Ukraine.

We remind you that this is not the first attack on this refinery. On October 23, the Ukrainian military already attacked the Ryazan Oil Refinery. After the strikes, a significant fire broke out on the territory of the facility. The Ukrainian military emphasizes that damage to part of the refinery's production facilities will weaken the ability of the russian army to support its combat operations.
As Defense Express reported at the beginning of the year, 12 Ukrainian drones struck Ryazan with devastating force. We also wrote, that Ukrainian drones struck deep inside russia, hitting Ryazan Oil Refinery on May 1, 2024.
