According to the official report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of the Ukraine, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, on the night of February 24, 2025 struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery in the Ryazan region, which is involved in providing support to the russian occupation army.
"At least 5 explosions are known in the area of the target. Previously, a fire broke out in the area of the ELOU AT-6 primary oil processing plant. The results of the damage are being clarified," the report states.

In addition, as reported by the General Staff, on Sunday, February 23, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck an oil depot – a fire was recorded in the area of the the '8 March' oil depot in the Tula region of the russian federation, where oil products for the occupation army were stored.
On the night of Monday, January 24, russian Telegram channels, citing local residents, reported that several explosions thundered in the area of the Ryazan Oil Refinery in the morning, after which a fire broke out there.
The Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the four largest refineries in the russian federation. The enterprise, in particular, produces diesel fuel as well as TS-1 jet fuel for aircraft.
ELOU AT-6 primary oil processing plant is used to separate crude oil into basic fractions such as gasoline, diesel fuel and fuel oil. The capacity of the unit is 23,190 tons per day, which is 47.5% of the total primary processing capacity of the refinery.
This is at least the third time in a year that Ukrainian drones have flown to this facility. For the first time, Ukrainian drones struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery on January 24 of this year. January 26 of this year the Forces of the Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence repeatedly struck the facilities of the Ryazan Oil Refining Company. As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as a result of the strike, explosions and a fire were recorded in the area of the specified target.

On January 27, it became known that the Ryazan Oil Refinery suspended work after the attack by Ukrainian drones. An oil storage facility was on fire at the plant. Railway shipments are not being carried out, oil refining has been stopped.
