In January 2025, Ukraine's Defense Forces intensified their long-range strikes, targeting key oil facilities across russian territory. These operations aim to disrupt the enemy’s logistics and weaken its ability to sustain military operations

According to the Chief Communications Directorate of Ukraine's General Staff (AFU StratCom), a total of nine oil depots and refineries were hit throughout the month.

In January alone, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out multiple attacks on russian oil infrastructure. The Liskynska oil depot in the Voronezh region was struck twice, on January 16 and 21.

The wave of strikes continued, with the Smolensk Aviation Plant coming under attack on January 21 and the Kremniy EL plant in Bryansk being hit on January 24. Ukrainian drones also targeted the Ryazan Oil Refining Company on January 24 and 26.

As the month came to a close, Ukraine’s forces launched further strikes, hitting the Kstovo oil refinery on January 29 and an oil depot in Volgograd on January 31.

"Without oil and oil revenues, the enemy finds it harder to sustain its army. Long-range strikes bring victory closer!" the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.
