Operators of the 45th Brigade have eliminated rare Type 75 MLRS supplied to russia by North Korea, showcasing Ukraine's growing counter-battery precision

Ukrainian drone operators from the 45th Brigade have successfully destroyed North Korean-made Type 75 multiple launch rocket system used by russian forces. The strike, captured by an unmanned aerial vehicle, was published by the Brigade.

While monitoring enemy positions, Ukrainian drone teams detected the Type 75 107 mm MLRS concealed among russian frontline assets. The discovery, and the subsequent precision strike, once again highlighted Ukraine's growing ability to identify and neutralize rare or foreign-supplied weapons used by the russian army.

The Type 75 system is part of a growing influx of North Korean weaponry supplied to russia in recent months. Moscow, facing shortages in its own stockpiles, has increasingly turned to Pyongyang for artillery systems, rockets, and munitions.

However, the Type 75 system is far from a modern or original design. It is essentially a copy of China's Type 63 launcher, which itself was modeled after the Soviet RPU-14 system developed in the mid-20th century.

Despite its outdated origins, russia has begun employing such systems more frequently since early 2025, likely as a result of dwindling domestic resources and increased cooperation with North Korea. These foreign-supplied launchers are often deployed to support russian infantry units or to supplement artillery fire where more advanced systems are no longer available.

The strike carried out by the 45th Brigade removes yet another piece of foreign equipment from russia's battlefield inventory. The footage released by the Brigade clearly shows the moment of impact, confirming the destruction of the Type 75 launcher.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian security services have released striking new footage from a naval drone that struck russian Dashan shadow fleet tanker in the Black Sea on December 10. The video, recorded from the onboard camera of a surface unmanned system, captures the final seconds before impact and the powerful explosions that followed near the vessel's stern.
