Ukraine's drone operators have delivered another significant blow to russia's already strained air defense capabilities. Fighters of the Nemesis 412th Brigade successfully eliminated two Tor-M1 short-range air defense systems and one Buk-M3, one of the newest and most advanced platforms in the russian arsenal.
The operation was carried out by operators of the Asgard Battalion, a unit within the brigade known for its precision strikes and deep integration of drone reconnaissance with high-accuracy munitions. According to the Brigade, the teams executed the mission with "masterful" coordination, engaging targets crucial to russia's layered air defense network.

Among the confirmed destroyed assets are two Tor-M1 self-propelled systems. Designed to protect frontline units from drones, cruise missiles, and guided munitions, the Tor system is a key element of russian short-range air defense. The elimination of two such vehicles not only weakens tactical protection for russian formations but also further exposes their forward positions to Ukrainian drone strikes.
Also destroyed was Buk-M3, one of the most modern medium-range surface-to-air missile systems fielded by russia. With improved radar, advanced missiles, and enhanced electronic protection, the M3 variant is considered a high-value target – rare, expensive, and difficult for russia to replace under sanctions and wartime production constraints.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian drone operators have dealt a major blow to russia's layered air defense system, damaging three high-value surface-to-air missile systems worth an estimated $60 million, according to a statement by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces on November 28.
The strike targeted russian Buk-M1, Buk-M2, and Tor-M2, all core elements of russia's medium- and short-range air defense architecture.
