Armin Papperger, Chairman-Mgmt Board/CEO at Rheinmetall AG, which is building four plants for the production of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine, said this in a recent interview with TSN.
The three plants will produce gunpowder, ammunition and air defense systems. At the same time, the first plant, where a line for the production of armored vehicles is located, is already working producing the Lynx infantry fighting vehicles.

"Actually, Ukraine needs 3,000 Lynx infantry fighting vehicles, but there are no funds for them," Armin Papperger said.

The Lynx IFV was first presented in 2016 at the Eurosatory exhibition, two years later the KF41 "heavier" version of the IFV was shown. The main IFV’s armament is a LANCE turret with a 30 or 35 mm gun as well as with an ATGM launcher, which can be equipped according to the customer's requirements. The IFV was developed using modern technologies that increase the protection of the vehicle (modular armor, active systems) and situational awareness.
Defense Express reported earlier, that Ukraine Might Have Been Armed With the German 130-Mm Panther, As Well As the Latest Lynx IFVs. We also just have reported, that Canadian LAV 6.0 ACSV Armored Vehicles Have Been Sent to Ukraine
