German Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) have proven highly effective in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Armin Papperger. In a recent interview with TSN, Armin Papperger praised the Marder vehicle’s performance, highlighting it as one of the most successful pieces of equipment provided to Ukraine. While certain operational details remain classified, he noted that the German defense ministry could offer additional insights into the vehicle’s impact on the battlefield.
This week, Rheinmetall delivered another batch of the Marder 1A3 IFVs to Ukraine, completing the shipment by the end of the third quarter. The total number of these IFVs delivered now stands at approximately 200, supplied through various programs, including ring exchanges. Rheinmetall refurbishes these vehicles at a rate of 10 units per month, underscoring the company’s commitment to aiding Ukraine’s defensive efforts with reliable, modernized military technology.
