Czech Primoco UAV secures €4M Spanish order as it prepares to triple production to 300 units annually with anti-Shahed missile integration

Czech unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer Primoco UAV SE announced the conclusion of its first major contract this year for the delivery of Primoco One 150 unmanned systems. This involves an unspecified number of UAVs or complexes worth €4 million (approximately 100 million crowns).

The customer is Spain's Civil Guard (Guardia Civil), national police forces with military status subordinate to both the Ministry of Interior and defense department.

Primoco One 150 unmanned aerial vehicles will become a key technological tool for the corps. Thanks to exceptional endurance and advanced sensors, they will provide the Spanish National Guard with continuous surveillance capability over large sections of sea routes and borders, as well as tactical support for ground forces in difficult terrain, the company press release states.

Primoco UAV SE also recalled that last year proved successful for the company with total orders for 42 drones worth 1.06 billion Czech crowns (approximately €44 million), meaning the rough price of one such drone is slightly over €1 million.

The company also notes it is building a new hangar and training bases at its factory-airport, work on which should conclude this year. It also wants to build a completely new production facility to increase production rates to 300 unmanned systems annually. Considering that as of today the company has produced over 250 such drones total, this is quite an ambitious goal, as the company apparently expects increased order quantities for their UAVs.

Primoco One 150 is a drone designed for both civilian and military use, including reconnaissance, strategic infrastructure monitoring, conducting electronic warfare, and so on.

The unmanned system has a maximum takeoff weight of 150 kg and can carry payloads up to 30 kg. Cruising speed is 120 km/h, airborne endurance is 15 hours, with a maximum stated range of 1,800 km. Maximum altitude is 3,300 meters.

Also recall that back in August last year it became known that a German defense company demonstrated small air-to-air missiles of its own production for the Primoco One 150 drone with speeds of 600 km/h and a flight duration of 5 minutes, with which the UAV transforms into a Shahed hunter.

Primoco drones have among other things been supplied to Ukraine within defense assistance from Luxembourg and Germany.

Previously, Defense Express reported that Ukraine is being offered new L-39NG Skyfox aircraft instead of L-159s, which Czechia refused to sell.
