On the night of Friday, May 17, the Defense Forces of Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on the territory of the russian federation. We are talking about the Lyuty-type drones, which successfully broke through the russian air defense system as well as EW means and hit a number of targets in the south of russia and in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
In particular, during the attack, it was possible to disable the oil refinery in Tuapse. This is far from the first case of striking this object. In particular, this refinery was affected on January 25 with the failure of the oil primary processing plant. Then the oil refinery in Tuapse was under repair and it was only on May 7 that information appeared that it resumed its work (perhaps according to limited technological cycles). But now this plant again received several drones, the blows of which again sent it to the "knockout".

On the video from the scene of the events, it is possible to hear how the drone attack on this important facility, which allows processing of 9 million tons of crude oil per year (ranks 12th in terms of capacity in the russian federation). This attacks were being fought off with a firearm - single shots were heard in the video . In view of this, we can conclude that this important object for the russians was not covered by air defense means at all, as was the city as a whole.
The situation is similar in Novorossiysk, where several objects were hit by drones, in particular - an electrical substation that supplied part of the city and port infrastructure, as well as a number of fuel and lubricant terminals.
It is interesting that part of the video from Novorossiysk also does not show the operation of air defense systems - the drones calmly hit their targets. In just a few frames, you can hear and see how someone is unsuccessfully trying to hit these drones with machine guns and other small arms.
It should be recalled that in this case we are talking about the city and the port, which are currently the base of the Black Sea Fleet of the russian federation, and must be covered by fairly powerful means of air defense. But all that can be seen in the video is small arms. This may indicate the absence of anti-aircraft defense in the rear areas of the russian federation.
It should also be noted that the strike drones knocked out the electrical substation in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol - part of the city was left without electricity.
In the end, despite the appearance on the network of numerous videos on which effective strikes by Ukrainian drones on the territory of russia were recorded, the Ministry of Defense of the invading country cheerfully reported that they allegedly shot down all 102 drones (although, in the best case, there were several dozen of them).
