Hacktivist Group That Undermines russia's Military Industry Awarded by ​Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Chief

This is the first time in the country's history a prestigious state award is granted to civilian cybersecurity specialists for their contributions to national defense

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, an agency under the Ministry of Defense, has awarded members of the LASKA hacktivist group for "undermining russian military-industrial complex and obtaining important intelligence." The honorary awards were handed by DIU Chief Kyrylo Budanov at a closed meeting with the representatives of the activism movement.

"The distinguished cyberactivists have been cooperating with the war intelligence since the first day of russia's full-scale invasion," reads the statement.

LASKA members were presented the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III class, a prestigious award granted for impeccable performance of military and official duty, valor and honor demonstrated in the process. In respect to LASKA's achievements, the DIU pointed out that "their skillful actions in the enemy's cyberspace significantly reduced the capabilities of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state of russia, and also ensured the acquisition of critically important information."
