Ukraine can count on unnamed long-range missiles that will be supplied by Germany. This was officially stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, but he did not announce their name as well as did not disclose the timing and volume of supplies.
But, according to the German Chancellor, work on this has been going on intensively for "several months" and will continue for "weeks and months". In addition, a very important detail was noted that if necessary, "the production of such weapons systems in Ukraine" is possible.

No further details were given. Nor was there any hint as to whether we are talking about the most famous and only German Taurus cruise missiles. This was explained by the fact that Berlin radically changed its position on the publicity of the issue of arms transfers to Ukraine.

It is quite possible to make certain assumptions about these weapons, as the arsenal of such weapons in Germany is very small and limited. Moreover, it is possible to immediately exclude any ballistic missiles – due to their absence in Germany itself and, in fact, they are not present in any of the European countries (except for the intercontinental ones in France).
Only the category of cruise missiles remains, of which there are also not many. If we exclude the Taurus, the production of which has yet to be resumed, only Storm Shadow/SCALP remains, to which Germany has a very indirect relationship, as well as the French MdCN. But the possibility of producing any of these missiles in Ukraine remains very doubtful.
Therefore, it is possible to immediately draw attention to the fact that new developments that have already been created with an understanding of the need to ensure mass production and low cost are only being pushed into production. In this area, there are two European projects by the pan-European conglomerate MBDA, in which Germany participates.
This is the One-Way Effector - a European Shahed-type jet UAV with a 155-mm projectile inside as a warhead, which should fly 500 km. But the start of its serial production is scheduled for 2027, so this option is quite unlikely – at least in the short term.

The Crossbow cruise missile, which should fly 800 km, may be much more promising in terms of technology transfer to Ukraine. At the same time, it has an adequate warhead of 300 kg, which can hit a wide range of targets – including on the territory of russia. Also in favor of the version about the possibility of supplying Crossbow to Ukraine may be the manufacturer's promise to deliver these missiles to the customer in the second quarter of 2026.

But there is another option in Germany itself, offered by Rheinmetall. This German defense giant plans to produce a version of Anduril's massive Barracuda 500M cruise missile, which is better suited for strikes against russia due to the twice as large warhead. At the same time, Rheinmetall has production facilities in Ukraine as well as plans to further expand them.
As Defense Express reported, secret Rheinmetall’s FV-014 Stealth UAV reportedly was in Ukraine
