The result of the strike appears mysterious, but it could literally mean an exorbitant cost of losses for the occupiers

On the night of Thursday, October 3, 2024, Ukrainian Defense Forces drones struck the russian Borisoglebsk military airbase, located 300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. According to available information, the airbase was used as a launch point for Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft that attacked Ukrainian territory with guided bombs.

The probable objective of this strike appears entirely logical: to damage the aircraft and related infrastructure so that the enemy can no longer use this airbase to launch guided bomb attacks on our land.

On Friday, October 4, the publication RFE/RL released detailed satellite images that indicate the results of the strike on the Borisoglebsk airbase, and it can be said that the outcomes indeed appear quite intriguing.

On one hand, these images do not show anything that would indicate the effective destruction of russian aircraft in the parking areas and/or munitions storage sites, such as guided bombs or "air-to-air" or "air-to-surface" missiles.

However, instead, we can clearly see that unknown boxes or containers were hit and burned, which were located outdoors near the runway.

In fact, these unknown boxes or containers are the most intriguing element in this story. Theoretically, such containers could have housed either rare aviation munitions or suspended containers with scarce and expensive equipment, such as for radio engineering or electronic reconnaissance.

It turns out that these satellite images do not yet provide the necessary data on enemy losses as a result of the strike on the Borisoglebsk airbase; additional information is still needed.

However, there are still grounds to say within the framework of the preliminary conclusions that this strike by the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the enemy airfield was successful, and the losses for the occupiers as a result of this could turn out to be extremely painful.
