During the IDEX-2023 defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the Kramatorsky Plant of Heavy Machine Tool Construction presented the updated the 2S22 155-mm Bohdana self-propelled gun.
Unlike its basic prototype, which became famous during the Battle of Zmiiny Island, the upgraded 2S22 Bohdana SPG has significant improvements and is adapted for use on three types of chassis, as mil.in.ua reports.

The SPG received a computerized system of automatic targeting along with target tracking, also an adapted system for the rapid deployment of to fire on all types of terrain.
The total weight of the upgraded 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled gun is 28 tons, and the ammunition load is up to 20 shells. But it is not known whether these numbers will vary depending on the chassis used.

The Tatra-based variant is equipped with an armored cabin by the Ukrainska bronetekhnika (Ukrainian Armored Vehicles) plant a different howitzer loading mechanism as well.
The crew will consist of 5 people, the declared rate of fire is up to 5 shots per minute.

In an interview for one of the Ukrainian mass media in February 2023, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov noted that in a few months the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the "first divisions" of the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns of domestic production.
