These artillery rocket launchers could have arrived back in April, still in active service

A notable photo from the Ukrainian frontlines indicates: Ukrainian artillery units are using BM-21 "Grad" MLRS provided as well by Poland. One of the Polish vehicles was spotted near the area of active combat, though it is still in the characteristic coloring of its former owners, Defence24 reports.

As noted by the authors, the supply of these systems to Ukraine wasn’t announced publicly. The transfer was likely to take place in April 2022, the approximate number of systems provided is 20.

Considering the number of rocket artillery systems in the Polish armed forces: 29 RM-70, 79 WR-40 Langusta and 75 BM-21 Grad (179 in total), the Poles could have given away more than a quarter of their Grad park to the Ukrainian allies. The statistics were taken from the Military Balance handbook and correspond to the number of systems in service as of the end of 2021.

Defence24 assumes that Polish Grad's were used to "hunt down" the russian ones, which caused trouble for the Ukrainian artillery during the counter-battery combat.
