During a recent operation in temporarily occupied Crimea, fighters of the Prymary unit of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence struck one of the most valuable radar stations in the arsenal of russia – the 98L6 Yenisei system.
This radar system is rare and extremely expensive. It is designed to support the operation of russia's advanced air defense systems, specifically the S-500 Prometheus system, one of the newest and most powerful in the russian military arsenal.

The S-500 Prometheus system is intended to counter a wide range of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles, aircraft, and even space objects. The Yenisei radar plays a crucial role in detecting and tracking targets for this system.
Additionally, the Yenisei radar can be integrated with the more widely known S-400 Triumf systems, significantly enhancing russian air defense capabilities on the Crimean Peninsula.
The destruction of this radar station severely weakens the effectiveness of russian air defenses in Crimea, reducing their ability to detect and neutralize airborne threats in a timely manner.
The operation by the Prymary unit is part of a broader strategy by Ukrainian intelligence and military forces aimed at neutralizing key components of the enemy's defense that pose a threat to Ukraine's airspace.
Destroying the Yenisei system is not only a tactical success but also a significant morale blow to the occupying forces, showcasing the capabilities of Ukrainian forces and strengthening control over temporarily occupied territories.
As Defense Express previously reported, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has published a new video showing a compilation of drone strikes on russian radars and a boat in temporarily occupied Crimea. Air defense systems and fighter jets attempted to intercept them, but the drones dodged the missiles like Neo from the Matrix.
