Operators of Ukraine's Brigade released footage showing the destruction and damage of multiple russian artillery systems

Operators of Ukraine's 5th Brigade have conducted a series of precision strikes against russian artillery assets, targeting multiple gun and mortar systems deployed by russian forces. Footage of the operation was published by the brigade on February 2, showcasing the continued effectiveness of Ukrainian strike units against enemy firepower.

According to the released material, the brigade's operators successfully destroyed and damaged several key artillery systems used by russian forces. Among the confirmed losses is a fully destroyed D-30 122 mm howitzer, a widely used Soviet-era artillery piece that remains common in russian units.

In addition, Ukrainian operators reported successful strikes against the D-20 152 mm howitzer and M-46 130 mm field gun. Both systems are capable of long-range indirect fire and are often employed by russian forces to target Ukrainian defensive positions, logistics routes, and frontline infrastructure.

The operation also resulted in the neutralization of a 120 mm mortar, a critical asset for close and medium-range fire support. Mortars of this caliber are frequently used to harass infantry positions and conduct rapid fire missions, making them a high-priority target for Ukrainian strike units.

Notably, the brigade also identified and hit a concealed artillery piece that had been carefully camouflaged by russian forces. This indicates effective reconnaissance and target acquisition, suggesting the use of aerial surveillance and real-time battlefield awareness to detect hidden enemy assets.

"Minus enemy artillery. We continue to knock out the occupier's firepower," the brigade stated, summarizing the operational goal behind these strikes.

As Defense Express previously reported, the Soviet-era Kub surface-to-air missile system, originally developed in the 1960s to counter manned aircraft, has returned to service with the Ukrainian Air Force in an entirely new role. Once designed for Cold War air battles, the system has now been adapted to effectively counter mass attacks by strike unmanned aerial vehicles.
