Ukrainian Military Landed a russian Drone: How Did They Do That

How to land an enemy drone without getting it shot? There is a hint among the recent events

An electronic warfare unit of Ukrainian Air Assault Forces published some photos of a downed drone on Tuesday. And it looks completely intact at the first glance.

The paratroopers say they spotted this one when it was scouting around and "landed" the UAV by intercepting it:

"The paratroopers, having noticed enemy equipment, decided to take control over it. This way the [russian] occupiers were left without sight," wrote the press center of the Air Assault Forces Command.

There are several thoughts on which device was used to intercept the drone but the one that manifested itself at Ukrainian frontlines already is the EDM4S Sky Wiper "anti-drone gun".

This rifle-type drone jammer was seen deployed in Ukraine’s east even before February 24, when russia hadn't launched the all-out invasion yet and still denied the presence of its forces in Ukraine.

Then, this air defense system was spotted during trainings of Ukrainian troops, just recently, on May 18.

And finally, there is the latest news from Lithuania, where the EDM4S is manufactured, that 110 "Sky Wipers", or rather "Ork-slayers", are going to Ukraine. The message appeared about a day prior so the jammers could possibly reach Ukrainian units by that time.

It is not clear though whether the Ukrainian paratroopers received some of the new systems or used one from their previous stocks. However, quite surely the Ukrainian military know how to use them right.
