Ukrainian Ground Drones Destroy russian Forces: "Surprises" for the Enemy (Video)

Servicemen with Ukraine's Armed Forces are increasingly employing ground drones to combat the invading russian forces

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have made significant strides in utilizing FPV drones on the battlefield. This technology has proven to be a highly effective tool against russian reconnaissance UAVs. A recent video highlighted a Ukrainian drone operator skillfully targeting the tail of a russian Mi-28 helicopter.

At the same time, drone technology is rapidly advancing on the ground as well. Ukrainian military now has access to a wide range of robotic ground platforms, each with various features and purposes, which have been actively deployed on the battlefield for several months.

Notably, "minelaying robots" have become increasingly widespread. These reusable platforms are designed to deploy mines targeting enemy personnel or military equipment.

For instance, two recent incidents have emerged online, showing the 23rd Separate Rifle Battalion using a small ground minelaying drone on the battlefield to set "traps" for russian soldiers in wooded areas.

Both incidents were recorded near Torske in the Donetsk region. In the first incident, two russian soldiers encountered a mine. While the outcome is not shown, the soldiers were at least wounded.

In the second incident, a group of russian soldiers was hit. In both cases, the drone successfully deployed the mine at the designated location and then exited the area after completing its mission.

Overall, robotic ground platforms are emerging as a significant element of weaponry on the battlefield in Ukraine, akin to the earlier proliferation of UAVs.

Meanwhile, a recent forecast in the United States predicted that in 15 years, one-third of their military could be robotic. This forecast includes not only small robotic platforms but also autonomous missile systems, such as the unmanned HIMARS.
