“We continue the offensive operation according to our plan. Since the 1st of October, the advancing of our troops in the enemy depth of defence has been up to 36,5 km, the total area of the reclaimed territory – up to 1381 sq km, 41 settlements have been reclaimed along the Kherson axis”

That was wrote by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny in post on his official page on Facebook.

“Significant efforts of our military are behind the so-called “goodwill gesture” of the enemy. Just as the enemy retreated from Kyiv and Kharkiv oblast, abandoned Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, the likely pullout from Kherson are the outcome of our active operations,” the post reads.

In Kherson direction, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed the logistics routes and support system, disrupted the Russian military command system, and thus left the enemy no other option than to flee, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

As Zaluzhny noted, at the moment "we can neither confirm nor deny the information about the so-called withdrawal of the Russian occupation troops from Kherson. We continue the offensive operation in accordance with our plan."

Over the past day, in Petropavlivka-Novoraysk direction, the units of the Defense Forces advanced 7 km, took control of six settlements, restored Ukraine’s control over 107 sq km of territory. "In Pervomayske-Kherson direction, we advanced 7 km, took control of six settlements, the area of freed land is 157 sq km," Zaluzhny noted.

At the same time Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said at a briefing, answering Ukrinform's question about the request for a "green corridor" for the invaders that the command of the Russian armed forces did not ask the Ukrainian side to create a "green corridor" to withdraw troops from Kherson.

"According to the available information, the Russian side addressed neither the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, nor the leadership of the General Staff, nor the command of the army groups with a request to create so-called ‘green corridor’," Oleksiy Hromov noted.
