Ukrainian anti-aircraft drones continue to hunt russian Forpost UAVs. They also managed to hit a rather interesting target — the Orion UAV

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has released a video and detailed data on the amount of Russian weapons and military equipment destroyed by its Special Group Alpha over a two-week period. This includes tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

The video shows that SSU warriors managed to shoot down a rare russian drone using an anti-aircraft FPV drone. It is russian-Israeli Forpost-R UAV. The video features two occasions where this drone was brought down.

This is not the first time that an anti-aircraft FPV drone has managed to hit such a target. Earlier, a unit of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems Forces, also known as the Birds of Magyar, managed to hit a Forpost-R with an anti-aircraft FPV drone. This was probably the first time that an anti-aircraft drone was used to hit this UAV.

The most interesting part of the video shows how an anti-aircraft FPV drone managed to shoot down another russian drone — the Orion reconnaissance and strike UAV.

This is the first known video capturing the destruction of this UAV by an anti-aircraft drone, and quite possibly the first time such a significant target has been taken down by an anti-aircraft FPV drone.

It should be noted that Orion is a MALE (Medium Altitude, Long Endurance) UAV, developed and manufactured by the Kronshtadt plant, which was hit in May.

The Orion reconnaissance and strike drone carries weapons such as various aircraft bombs, including KAB-20, KAB-50, UPAB-50, FAB-50, etc. This UAV has also been seen carrying the Kh-BPLA missile, and earlier this year, a new cruise missile named Banderol was unveiled.
