Operators of the Phoenix unmanned systems unit have successfully detected and destroyed camouflaged russian tank in the Toretsk sector, demonstrating the growing effectiveness of Ukrainian drone warfare on the front line. The operation was confirmed by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which also released video footage showing the strike on the enemy vehicle.
According to the report, the tank was carefully concealed, indicating russian efforts to preserve armored assets amid constant Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance. Despite these measures, the Phoenix drone operators were able to track the target, identify its position, and deliver a precise strike, neutralizing the threat before it could be used in combat operations.

In a separate engagement in the outskirts of Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian forces destroyed russian Grad multiple launch rocket system. Importantly, the system was hit before it managed to carry out any launches, preventing potential strikes against both civilian areas and Ukrainian defensive positions.
The State Border Guard Service emphasized that the Grad launcher failed to reach its designated firing position. As a result, the system was eliminated before it could inflict damage, underscoring the role of drones in proactive, rather than purely reactive, battlefield operations.
Beyond these high-value targets, Ukrainian drone operators also struck additional enemy equipment and personnel in the same operational direction. The Phoenix unit continues to apply sustained pressure on russian forces by targeting not only frontline assets but also rear-area elements critical to combat effectiveness.
As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces carried out a coordinated strike against russian logistical targets in temporarily occupied territories during the night of January 8, continuing a campaign aimed at degrading the enemy's rear infrastructure.
