Initially, it was assumed that the allies would purchase 800,000 shells: 500,000 of the 155-mm caliber and another 300,000 of the 122-mm caliber. However, Czech officials found another 200,000 units of ammunition.

It is noted that it is unknown which companies were approached for additional shells, although rumors point to South Korea, Turkey, and possibly South Africa.

In addition, Ukraine may receive the first batches of ammunition not in June, as the Czech government had previously publicly stated, but in April.

According to the article, 15 countries have joined the Czech initiative, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, and Canada. At the same time, not all of them publicly announced the amount of money they had contributed to the purchase of shells.

Earlier Defense Express reported that President of Czech Republic Petr Pavel stated that his country had found about 800,000 rounds of ammunition outside the EU that could be transferred to Ukraine. But supplies require funding. A number of Western countries have announced that they are joining the Czech initiative and allocating funds for the purchase of shells.
