RGW-90 Matador is already familiar to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and has received very favorable reviews from its operators as an effective weapon to wipe out enemy armored vehicles and pillboxes

German government has updated the list of weapons delivered to Ukraine, which includes traditional reconnaissance aerial drones, ammunition, armored engineering vehicles, and some essential items.

For example, the 2,056 RGW-90 Matador anti-tank recoilless weapons are mentioned. This grenade launcher has become well known to the Ukrainian forces since March 2022, when the first batch of 2,500 units was delivered. At this point, about 8,000 were transferred in total which makes a new batch of 2,000 additional Matadors quite a big reinforcement.

On a reference note, the RGW-90 Matador is a man-portable, multi-purpose disposable recoilless gun from Dynamit Nobel Defense, which is equally effective both against armored vehicles, with its penetrating power of over 500 mm of rolled homogeneous armor, and concrete military shelters thanks to switching the warhead to HESH mode with "liquid" explosive.

Another noteworthy item in the list is the 70 HK GMW automatic grenade launchers, similar in capabilities and purpose to the American Mk 19. They come with 24,000 rounds of associated ammunition.

In the drone department, Germany has sent 30 RQ-35 Heidrun and 14 Vector reconnaissance UAVs, both are provided to Ukrainians on a regular basis, too. The manufacturer of Vector is even planning to make these drones in Ukraine, considering the business prospects and the effectiveness it has shown on the battlefield, especially in 2022.

At the same time, the package includes extremely important anti-drone equipment: 180 field setups of the RF-360 drone detection system from Dedrone, it can spot enemy UAVs within its cover range and, based on triangulation methods, determine their location. Also provided are five sets of counter-drone sensors and jammers.

Besides the items mentioned, the aid package includes an undisclosed amount of ammunition for the Leopard 2 main battle tanks and 4,000 rounds of 155mm artillery shells. Among the armored vehicles, Germany sends 10 heavy engineering vehicles on tank chassis: six WiSENT mine-clearing systems, one Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicle, two Biber mobile bridges, one Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs earthmoving vehicle. On top of that, Berlin transferred 14 Bronco tracked personnel carriers and three Dingo MRAP vehicles, several hundred infrared cameras, 3,000 camouflage nets, 2,000 camouflage ponchos.
