Remote-controlled system detects and neutralizes anti-personnel mines, protecting soldiers

The Ratel Deminer is a mine-clearing system that detects and neutralizes anti-personnel mines. It operates remotely, thus saving the lives of military personnel, Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, reports.

The systems is equipped with a daytime vision camera, which helps to control it better. The Ratel Deminer system destroys mines such as PFM-1, PMN-4, PMN-3 and PMN-2.

The developers have already conducted tests of the Ratel Deminer system in real conditions – the systems was used for humanitarian demining of anti-personnel mines near Sviatohirsk in Donetsk region.

The Ratel Deminer system has been given the status of BRV1, which means that its development has been identified as a priority for the Armed Forces. Currently, the system is being further developed and its capabilities are being increased.

This is not the first development from this manufacturer that has gone through the Brave1 pathway. The Ratel S and Ratel M ground robots have been codified and are actively used in the military.
