UK Ministry of Defence: UK Hosts 44-Nation Hormuz Security Talks as Air and Naval Missions Expand

Britain convened over 44 countries for a multinational planning conference on the Strait of Hormuz, while intensifying air and maritime security operations across the Gulf region

Today, on April 24, the UK is hosting a Strait of Hormuz multinational military planning conference with over 44 nations at the Permanent Joint Headquarters, as part of our co-leadership with France, UK Ministry of Defence reports.

UK Typhoon and F-35 jets, together with Wildcat and Merlin helicopters, have now flown over 2,200 in hours in their defensive missions across the region, including over Cyprus, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE.

HMS Dragon, a highly advanced air defense ship, is in the seas off Cyprus continuing its air defense mission.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Centre, is providing mariners, shipping companies, and regional authorities with essential, verified, and corroborated security information, helping protect crucial trade routes.
