It was obviously only a matter of time that the russian federation would sooner or later create its kamikaze sea drone

The russian federation used a naval drone in Black See against Ukraine.

This is stated in the message about the conversation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley, which was published on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, a certain part of the conversation was devoted to the russian federation's use of maritime drones against Ukraine.

"I shared my concern about russia's use of unmanned surface vehicles, which poses a threat to civilian maritime shipping in the Black Sea," the message gives direct speech of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine .

The drone could strike a bridge across the Dniester Estuary in Zatoka settlement, Odesa region.

It would be quite optimistic to believe that the russian federation will not be able to be "inspired" by Ukrainian development, which was washed ashore in the occupied Crimea back in September.

We would remind that today so called russian “war correspondents” started distributing a footage of the bridge in Zatoka (Odesa region) that possibly had been hit by maritime drone.

The video shows a bridge with characteristic structure of movable bridge and unidentified object exploding under it.

The video was filmed on a phone at 19:28, February 10, 2023. There was no official information about the incident and the credibility of the video hasn’t been checked yet.

“Official sources, the Odesa Regional Military Administration in particular, do not verify the video’s authenticity. We’ve been through this: such footages and this kind of information,” Serhiy Bratchuk, the spokesperson of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Presumably, russia could have picked up the idea of Ukrainian naval drones, one of which russian authorities on the occupied Crimean Peninsula have found in September 2022. They have money, technological base and resources to create something similar.

The countermeasures are simple and well-known. The defensive booms that block a way to the object should be placed on the rivers, including those that russia and belarus can use to send the drones with the flow. The russian Black Sea Fleet also has that type of anti-maritime drones defenses.
