Reconnaissance and FPV drones enabled precise targeting of russian troops and equipment near the front

Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have carried out a high-precision strike operation on the border area, eliminating multiple russian military assets.

The footage reveals the coordinated efforts of FPV drone operators and reconnaissance UAV teams, who worked together to identify, track, and target russian positions. The integration of real-time aerial intelligence and strike capability allowed Ukrainian forces to maximize damage while minimizing their exposure to return fire.

Among the confirmed destroyed or damaged targets were significant enemy assets. These included a large number of russian infantry, indicating either a prepared assault force or a defensive grouping caught off guard by the operation. This suggests a tactical success in disrupting enemy troop concentrations near the front line.

One of the most notable strikes was against russian Zoopark counter-battery radar system, which plays a critical role in detecting and targeting Ukrainian artillery. Its destruction could temporarily degrade russian capabilities to monitor and respond to Ukrainian fire missions, giving Ukrainian forces more room to maneuver.

Ukrainian drones also targeted and neutralized several key artillery pieces. These included the 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and the D-30 towed howitzer, both widely used by russian forces for indirect fire support. The removal of these assets not only reduces the volume of enemy fire but also signals ongoing attrition of russia's artillery resources.

This operation exemplifies the evolving role in frontline combat, not just as elite infantry but as a technologically integrated strike force. Their use of FPV drones, in particular, has proven critical for deep strikes and precise elimination of high-value targets that would be difficult to reach through conventional means.

As Defense Express previously reported, recent reports highlight the destruction of enemy defense enterprises, ammunition depots, air defense systems, and combat vehicles through the use of domestically produced unmanned aerial vehicles.

Local manufacturers are providing high-quality and reliable drone systems tailored to the needs of military intelligence and frontline operations. These UAVs are used both to destroy equipment on the battlefield and to strike military targets located deep behind enemy lines.
