During the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week conference in the United States, Teledyne FLIR and Primordial Labs showcased a new option for the unique Black Hornet Nano drone.

The integrated voice control system called Anura Speech-to-Action was developed by Primordial Labs, allowing the drone to be controlled through voice commands. This innovation aims to facilitate the primary tasks of the UAV operator, particularly for the use by special operations forces, according Infodefensa.

The system’s functionality was demonstrated during the conference. The operator launched the drone, commanded it to move in various directions and then instructed it to identify specific points in space for further movement according to a defined patrol scheme.

Furthermore, the drone is able to detect whisper, meaning quiet commands, so that the operator does not have to speak loudly and reveal their presence.

Operators will find it quite easy to adopt the new features of the Black Hornet UAV. The commands required for the unmanned aerial vehicle are based on phrases commonly used in ordinary conversations, without complex terminology. This means that individuals with minimal training can operate this UAV.

Additionally, Anura Speech-to-Action system can also be used for other existing platforms or those under development

Ukraine has received about 1,000 (500 sets) of Black Hornets last year. The Ukrainian operators state that this UAV is perfect for a number of special operations.
