The Swedish government did not authorize the construction of 13 wind farms in the Baltic Sea due to a threat to national security.
"Based on the assessment of the Armed forces, building offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea would have unacceptable consequences for Swedish security. With war in close vicinity, Sweden finds itself in a serious security situation. Defence interests must carry significant weight when these kinds of decisions are made," Swedish Minister for Defense, Pål Jonson stated on his X account.

The point is that the wind turbines interfere with radar coverage and missile attack warnings. In particular, they can completely obstruct the detection of low-altitude threats, such as cruise missiles and drones, as well as affect the tracking of ballistic missile launches. And of course, we are talking about russian missiles.
That is why the ban on the construction of wind farms applies only to the east and south coasts of Sweden. At the same time, there are no restrictions in this regard in the west of the country. This is clearly evident, as shown on the map published by the Swedish government outlining the development of offshore wind power.
It should be understood that these 13 wind farms in the Baltic Sea were supposed to consist of about 1500 wind turbines in total. It is now clear that Stockholm has made an obvious choice between green energy and a security.
As Defense Express reported Sweden could strengthen Ukrainian Air Force not only with Saab 340 AEW&C, but with Gripen fighter jets too.
