Photo appeared on social media from MSPO 2026 defense exhibition exposition, showing turret from 120mm self-propelled mortar Rak installed on container. Initially quite logical assumptions arose this is another gigantic and impractical development, like for example Slovak AM120 self-propelled mortar unsuitable for drone war.
However ultimately it turned out this was merely technology demonstrator, not intended for rolling out onto battlefield. But regarding same Rak self-propelled mortar, another question remains hanging — tracked chassis, variant with which has been discussed for extended time.

About this being specifically technology demonstrator, Polish portal Defence24 writes citing HSW company representatives, Rak self-propelled mortar manufacturer.
At same time declared is turret shown on container for Rak under MSSW-120 designation has several tangible changes at once: longer barrel, automatic loading and remote module control capability.
Expected is shown MSSW-120 turret will be used for equipping new 64 Rak self-propelled mortars, which will be based on Rosomak chassis and purchased using European SAFE defense credit program funds.

Defence24 authors also write HSW already experimented with installing new MSSW-120 turret on tracked Rak variant. However question of which specific chassis tracked Rak self-propelled mortar variant will be developed on remains unresolved — LPG Hydro or converted Borsuk IFV chassis.
Not to mention tracked Rak variant was first shown back in 2021, and over previous 5 years this development never reached stage close to serial implementation.
