Ukrainian partisans have discovered why russian occupiers are dismantling a Ukrainian landing ship in temporarily occupied Crimea

The Atesh partisan movement reported that during reconnaissance of Pivdenna Bay in occupied Sevastopol, a large landing ship, the Konstantin Olshansky, and support vessels belonging to the 205th detachment of the russian Black Sea Fleet's Logistics Center were spotted.

"According to information from our sources, the captured Ukrainian ship is being used as a 'donor' for other ships of a similar type. Equipment is regularly removed from it in an attempt to keep the occupiers' crumbling fleet afloat," the statement reads.

This fact directly points to the poor technical condition of the russian Black Sea Fleet. Under the conditions of sanctions, attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and destroyed logistics, russians are no longer able to provide full repairs or ship replacement.

"Using decommissioned ships as sources of spare parts has become standard practice — and the Olshansky is just one example," the Atesh reported.

The ship was captured in 2014 and subsequently looted for nearly a decade. In March 2024, the Ukrainian Navy struck it with a Neptune missile, finally putting the ship out of action and preventing the occupiers from using it in combat.

In addition, the floating workshop PM-138 and the Yenisei hospital ship, which belong to the Black Sea Fleet, have been spotted in the bay. These targets are reportedly under surveillance and are expected to play a role in future strikes.

The Atesh partisan movement continues to systematically reconnoiter russian military infrastructure in Crimea and share the information with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier Defense Express reported that Ukrainian partisans had scouted facility upgrading russian drones in St. Petersburg.
