The Ministry of Defense of the russian federation has reported on the interception of Ukrainian GLSDB on March 28, 2023. But the thing is, Ukraine has not received it yet. And the first GLSDBs will arrive no sooner than in 9 months, as they have to be produced first.

Moreover, russian state-owned media Zvezda published a material about the interception. It was reported about the lunch of the GLSDB and its parameters.

It was also noted that the separation of the GBU-39 SDB from engine was at an altitude of 15 km and at a speed of 550 m/s, then the weapon fell to 10 km at a speed of 250 m/s. But russian the operators managed to shoot it down. The Buk SAM system, specifically the 9A310 transporter erector launcher and radar, was also shown. But the system was “acting weird”.

The gun carriage was “shaking” after it was put in firing position. There were 2 such episodes: during the stand up of a journalist that confused back and front of the system and on the video from quadcopter.

The shaking is connected with the amplifiers block of vertical guidance that is not properly set, according to experts. Furthermore, the starting device check is mandatory.

Another important point is that it’s not one of the “advanced russian systems”, but Soviet Buk SAM system, as “even this one is able to intercept modern weapons”.

As Defense Express reported, Russia Started "Intercepting" Ukrainian Hrim-2 Ballistic Missiles.
