The Ukraine Weapons Tracker community published a video on Twitter showing that Ukrainian troops are mastering BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles handed over by Poland (or BWP-1 – in the Polish Army). The Defence24 web portal estimates that, in total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received 40 units of BMP-1 from Polish colleagues, just the right amount for a full-fledged battalion set.
According to Defence24, Ukraine has received 100 Soviet BMP-1s already from its various allies.

On the one hand, such combat vehicles lag behind even the modernized russian BMP-1AM "Basurmanin" in terms of its weaponry specifications. On the other hand, the Armed Forces needed to replenish their losses in armored vehicles in a short period of time, and the BMP-1 in this case is quite an acceptable option.
Interestingly, there is already a "hint" in the open sources that points to which one of the Ukrainian units could have received the imported BMP-1 vehicles. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on its Facebook page showcased the process of combat training of the 8th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion, which is part of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade.

The servicemen of this battalion are mastering, in particular, Soviet BMP-1 IFVs, and those seem to have already been repainted in the "pixel" camouflage peculiar to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
