Journalists have calculated that the massive missile attack on Ukraine on January 2 cost russia approximately $620 million. This is evidenced by Forbes' calculations based on the data of the Ukrainian Air Force.

The following estimates were used for the calculation: the cost of one Kh-101 missile – US$13 million, Kalibr – US$6.5 million, Iskander – US$3 million, Onix – US$1.25 million, Kh-22 – US$1 million, Tochka system – US$0.3 million, Kh-55 – US$2 million, Kh-555 – US$4 million, Kh-47 Kinzhal – US$15 million, Shahed-136 – US$50,000.

As reported earlier by Defense Express, russia carried out another massive strike, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 107 targets.

  • In the first wave, the enemy attacked Shahed-136/131 UAVs - all 35 of them were destroyed;
  • In the morning, the enemy used strategic aviation - Tu-95MS bombers. 16 aircraft reached the launch line at about 6:00 a.m. and launched at least 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-launched cruise missiles;
  • Additionally, the enemy launched ten Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft fighters starting at 07.30;
  • russians also attacked from the sea with three Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • From the north with 12 Iskander-M/S-300/S-400 missiles;
  • Four Kh-31P anti-radar missiles were used from Su-35 tactical aircraft;

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, said that Ukrainian defenders destroyed 10 out of 10 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, 59 out of 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and 3 out of 3 Kalibr cruise missiles.

It should be noted that exclusive information obtained by Defense Express reveals that during today’s extensive missile attack on Ukraine, russian forces deployed a Kh-101 cruise missile manufactured in Q4 2023.
