Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have carried out a large-scale deep-strike campaign against russian military targets over the nights of April 27 and 28, hitting dozens of assets across temporarily occupied territories and inside russia. The operation was confirmed on April 29 by Major Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces.
According to the statement, Ukrainian units struck 27 stationary targets and more than 20 mobile ones, all located in the operational depth of russian-controlled areas. The strikes were coordinated through the newly established Deep Strike Center, highlighting an increasingly structured approach to long-range drone operations.

The range of targets indicates a deliberate focus on degrading critical military infrastructure. Among the confirmed hits were elements of russian air defense, including the Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region. Neutralizing such systems is key to enabling further drone and missile operations deeper behind enemy lines.
In addition, Ukrainian forces targeted multiple radar systems. These included the Kasta-2E2 radar located in Belgorod region of russia and another radar station operated by a radio-technical battalion in temporarily occupied Crimea. The destruction or disruption of radar assets reduces russia's ability to detect and respond to incoming threats.
Strikes also focused on command and support infrastructure. Ukrainian drones hit temporary deployment points of russian units, including facilities linked to the Bars-Sarmat Special Purpose Center in Zaporizhzhia region. This included both personnel locations and a hub involved in the production and outfitting of unmanned systems and electronic warfare equipment.
Further targets included a temporary base of reserve forces from the 36th Brigade in Donetsk region, as well as an ammunition depot in Crimea. These strikes point to a broader effort to disrupt logistics, reserves, and the sustainment of russian combat operations.
The scale and diversity of targets suggest a coordinated campaign aimed not only at immediate battlefield effects but also at long-term degradation of ussian capabilities. By hitting air defense, radar, logistics, and troop concentrations simultaneously, Ukraine is attempting to create systemic pressure across multiple domains.
Robert Brovdi noted that additional details on certain sensitive targets may be released later, indicating that the full scope of the operation is not yet public.
