For the first time in history, the russian Tu-95MS landed in China and the Chinese Xian H-6 landed in the russian federation

Yesterday, November 30, russian and Chinese Tu-95MS and Xian H-6 strategic bombers under the cover of fighters carried out a joint flight. The planes flew over the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. During the flight, the planes entered the control zone of the Korean air defense, but did not violate the airspace.

In addition, this exercise was special because for the first time russian strategic aircraft landed on the territory of China, and Chinese ones landed on the territory of the russian federation, as the Kremlin reported.

Overall, such joint military exercises look like a synchronized weapons clanging. Moreover, such joint maneuvers are only becoming more frequent, and their aspects are deepening. In particular, landing of strategic aircraft on the territory of another country, including the training of ground support services.

Defense Express notes that the chronology of joint russian-Chinese exercises is the following: in 2004, joint counter-terrorist maneuvers "Peace Mission" were held, which became annual. In April 2012, for the first time, joint naval exercises "Naval Interaction" took place, where more than 20 ships took part. These exercises have also become annual, failing to occur in 2020, but being held in September of this year.

In 2021, the russian army trained in China during the "Western Interaction-2021" maneuvers, and in September of this year, the "Vostok-2022" ("East-2022") training took place.

Since 2019, China and russia have been conducting joint strategic aviation flights, the first of them took place in July. Two Tu-95MS and Xian H-6 participated in it. In December 2020, there was a joint patrol, then another one in November 2021. In 2022, similar air maneuvers took place in May. That is, recent exercises were the second this a year.

Thus, such joint maneuvers for Moscow and Beijing are becoming regular and more frequent. The vector of their orientation is also obvious: the confrontation with the USA and its allies in the Pacific region.

The joint declaration on February 4 by Putin and Xi Jinping can be considered as a key document. It stated that the People's Republic of China and the russian federation oppose the expansion of NATO and the formation of closed power blocs in the Asia-Pacific region, and are also concerned about the creation of AUKUS (the US defense alliance, Great Britain and Australia). In addition, a large part of this declaration is aimed at explaining the existence of a totalitarian government, which they consider a democracy, just some other countries imposing "their standards".
