Air Force Command of Ukrainian armed forces reports forty air targets destroyed overnight on January 2nd: 39 Shahed-131/136 drones and a Kh-59 cruise missile in a new round of attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
They were divided into 28 aerial attacks, 27 of them with Shahed-type drones aimed at civilian infrastructure, General Staff of the AFU reports. All were taken down by the air defense units of the Air Force and the other branches of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

"Anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft of the Air Force, and mobile firing groups were involved in repelling the attack. Equipment and weapons provided to Ukraine by our Western partners are increasingly involved," says the report of the Air Force Command.
In addition, a Kh-59 cruise missile and two "Orlan-10" reconnaissance drones were destroyed.
