The Ukrainian Air Force's Western Command released cockpit footage of the MiG-29 fighter jet intercepting and destroying a russian Shahed-type kamikaze drone during an early morning mission. The operation was executed by a pilot identified by the callsign Denfix, who is credited with neutralizing over twenty enemy cruise missiles and drones to date.
Typically, russian forces deploy the Shahed drones under cover of darkness. However, this particular drone was launched at dawn, which simplified the interception. "Unlike during nighttime operations, I had a clear vision of the target through the sight," Denfix noted. "It was easier to detect and engage the drone in daylight conditions."
