In the south of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces launched a powerful series of airstrikes that destroyed russian artillery positions and military equipment. The attacks, carried out by Ukrainian aviation, involved precision strikes using French-supplied AASM HAMMER guided bombs.
According to official reports, Ukrainian forces successfully hit and eliminated russian 2A36 Giatsint-B 152 mm howitzer near the village of Peremozhne. Later, another artillery position and its crew were also destroyed by airstrikes. In addition to heavy artillery, Ukrainian forces targeted a group of russian assault troops from the 22nd Separate Guards Special Forces Brigade and an enemy ammunition storage point hidden in the forests near Zherebianka, Zaporizhzhia region.

The AASM HAMMER munitions, introduced into Ukrainian service in early 2024, feature advanced guidance systems and solid-fuel boosters, enabling strikes from distances up to 70 km. This allows Ukrainian aircraft to engage targets while remaining outside the effective range of russian air defenses.
Additionally, Ukrainian drone equipped with a thermite incendiary charge eliminated the AZP-57 57mm anti-aircraft gun housed in a shelter.
The strikes highlight Ukraine's growing ability to integrate advanced Western weapons like the HAMMER bombs, which allow aircraft to engage russian targets from safer distances without entering enemy air defense zones. The campaign continues to erode russian military capabilities along the southern front, undermining their operational effectiveness.
