Troels Lund Poulsen, acting Minister of Defense of Denmark, and Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, announced that Denmark jointly with the Netherlands would send 14 German-made Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine.
These tanks are expected to be delivered at the beginning of 2024. The total cost of the supply is $147 million.

These Leopard 2 MBTs are not Danish. They will be purchased jointly with the Netherlands. Moreover, the Minister of Defense notes it will be an older variant than the Leopard 2A7 MBT that is in a service with Denmark.
Troels Lund Poulsen adds that Denmark seeks to send at least 80 Leopard 1 tanks by the end of 2023.
Should be recalled that Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands launched the project to repair 80 Leopard 1A5 MBTs for Ukraine in February, 2023.
